HovText  .:: a simple Windows open source clipboard manager that can remove text formatting


HovText is a simple free open source Windows clipboard manager, which will remove any formatting from the copied text and save it for later retrieval via hotkeys. It stores both the unformatted cleartext and the original formatting along with images.

This is a list of ideas and possible new functionalities - at least I am considering it but there is no guarantee at all and it may never be realized :-) Strikethrough items have been considered, but will (for now) not be done.

Please feel free to comment on the same or suggest other functionalities via Contact.

  • Automatically clear unused clipboard entry after X seconds - is there a wish for this? Why?
  • Should the CPU architecture change from x86 to x64 - how many 32bit Windows' out there?
  • Should it be possible to exclude history for some applications?
  • Possibility to "Do not remove formatting from text"?
  • Permanent favorites that will be kept after reboot (local/cloud?)
